I am super excited that I had the opportunity to be part of the keto journey! I have heard about keto before, but I didn't know the details and the true benefits of this lifestyle! I was a little apprehensive to start my journey on December 27, but oh, boy, am I excited now that I did it then?? Especially because I gained some pounds around the Christmas time! After 4 weeks on this journey (and to clarify, I also started my Thyroid medication and a natural supplement for my Thyroid/metabolism) I have lost a bit over 11lbs.   • What is the ketogenic diet?

    The ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat, moderate-protein eating plan designed to shift your body into ketosis, where it burns fat for energy instead of carbohydrates.

  • How is this program structured?

    The program itself is divided into 4 chapters plus daily modules with education, resources, and guidance. You'll receive well formulated meal plans, detailed food lists, guidance on how to calculate macros, tips to boost your success, guidance on managing daily life while a following keto/low-carb diet, and support to help you implement and sustain the ketogenic lifestyle for the long term. The cost of the program includes the online program, plus 4 coaching sessions, and unlimited emails/messaging during the 4 weeks. Once the 4 weeks is up, you can choose to purchase additional coaching sessions on an as needed basis (highly recommended until you reach your goals for support and accountability).

  • Who is this program for?

    This program is ideal for anyone looking to lose weight, improve energy, reduce inflammation, balance blood sugar, or simply adopt a healthier lifestyle through the ketogenic diet. The program is also acceptable for people who wish to heal from one of the chronic illness mentioned above.

  • Do I need to count calories on keto?

    Calorie counting is not the main focus of keto, but it’s helpful in the beginning to track your macronutrients (fat, protein, and carbs) to ensure you’re staying within the appropriate ranges for ketosis. I will help you with this and we will set personalized macros to help you reach your particular goals. You do not have to track forever but in the beginning, I do recommend doing it. If you are against tracking or know that you won't do it, then I can provide a specific set of rules for various foods groups to follow so you don't need to track your macros.

  • Will I have to buy special supplements?

    Supplements are not required, but I’ll provide recommendations for electrolytes and other supplements that can support and make your transition to keto more comfortable and successful.

  • Is exercise required?

    Exercise is not required to start keto, but it can enhance your results. This program will include guidance on exercising while on a ketogenic diet.

  • How long does it take to see results?

    Everyone’s body is different, but most participants start noticing changes in energy levels, reduced cravings, and weight loss within the first week. Full fat adaptation typically takes 3-6 weeks and sometimes longer depending on your metabolic health. If you a consistent with keeping your carbs low enough and focusing on the foods that support metabolic health, then you will see results faster than if you are going in and out of high carb vs. low carb/keto.

  • Can I do keto if I’m vegetarian or vegan?

    Yes! While keto is typically high in animal products, I can provide plant-based options and guidance to adapt the diet to your preferences. It does make things a bit trickier, but it can be done. You can take the keto rules and apply them to a vegetarian or vegan diet you just have to get a bit creative with your meals.

  • Are cheat days allowed?

    Cheat days can disrupt ketosis and cause stalls in your weight-loss if that is your goal, but occasionally "carb cycling" can be incorporated, but only after you’ve reached your goals. It is important to understand that keto/low-carb is a lifestyle, not a quick fix. It requires consistency and determination, and your results will only be a good as your efforts. So, if you focus on "cheat days" then you will likely hinder your results. I’ll guide you on how to handle cravings, dinning out and social events.
